Farmers’ interstate exposure visit to Palampur Agri University concludes successfully

Srinagar : The Department of Animal Husbandry Jammu, under the leadership of Director, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, successfully concluded a four-day Inter-state farmers’ exposure visit to CSK HP Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur (Himachal Pradesh). The visit was organized by the Publicity Wing of the department under the centrally sponsored, ATMA (Agricultural Technology Management Agency) scheme to enhance the skills and knowledge of our farmers about modern dairy and poultry farming.
A group of 25 progressive farmers from different districts of Jammu division participated in the exposure tour during which they visited university’s advanced dairy units, integrated farming models and various innovative animal husbandry techniques being adopted there.
During the visit, farmers interacted with experts from the university and expressed satisfaction over the learning opportunities provided about important topics like disease management in livestock and poultry, fodder development and animal nutrition, milk-value addition and branding/packaging of milk and milk products, etc and appreciated the department of Animal Husbandry Jammu for organizing such informative and motivating exposure visits.
The farmers were accompanied by the staff of the Publicity Wing, led by Extension Officer, Dr. Mohd. Sajjad during the tour programme.
