Srinagar : Police in Pulwama have arrested two individuals who had been evading the law for prolonged periods.
In a statement issued here on Monday Police said that while acting on specific inputs, Police Station Kakapora arrested Nazir Ahmad Dar @ Rustum S/o Abdul Salam Dar R/o KatibughKakpora who had been declared a proclaimed offender by the Court of JMIC Pulwama in a case under the Negotiable Instruments Act. After remaining at large for an extended period, he was apprehended and produced before the Court.
In another action, Police Station Rajpora apprehended Shabir Ahmad Gorsi S/o Balya GorsiR/o Zampathri Keller, Shopian who was wanted in FIR No. 31/1996 under Sections 7/25 Arms Act and had been absconding for nearly 25 years. After his arrest, he too was produced before the Hon’ble Court as per legal procedure.
In its statement police also said that timely arrests reaffirm its firm resolve to uphold the rule of law and take decisive action against individuals attempting to evade the legal process.
