Srinagar : Below is the weeklong timeline of key engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah witnessed within and outside J&K this week:-

  1. IUST Gets Innovation Campus|LG Pushes Development-Focused Youth Agenda: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said J&K has created “massive infrastructure in five years,” urging young professionals to now focus on development strategies that can transform the UT’s economic fortunes. Speaking at the Valedictory Session of IUST’s Foundation Day, the LG inaugurated the IUST Innovation Campus and a new Administration Block at Awantipora. He said IUST has undergone major expansion since 2021, with academic programmes rising from 41 to 90 and new courses in AI, Robotics, Space Technology and Data Sciences designed to drive future growth.
  2. CM Omar Chairs JDA Board Meeting, Calls For Faster Project Execution : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday this week chaired the 90th Board of Directors meeting of the Jammu Development Authority, directing officials to ensure prudent financial management and timely completion of urban infrastructure projects. The meeting, attended by senior officers from Housing, Revenue and JMC, reviewed revised estimates for 2024–25 and the upcoming budget for 2025–26, with emphasis on improving public amenities and sustainable urban growth.
  3. LG Sinha Urges Filmmakers To Expose Terror Ecosystem At Srinagar Film Festival: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday this week called on filmmakers to highlight the ordeals of terror victims and expose those enabling violence in J&K. Speaking at the International Film Festival of Srinagar, he appealed to the public to share information with police to help dismantle the hidden terror network. He said five to six years of “tireless work and sacrifice” by security forces have created a fear-free atmosphere, enabling youth to dream and grow.
  4. CM OMar Inaugurates New Residential Flats Block At Muthi : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday this week inaugurated a new G+6 residential block at Muthi, adding 28 one-room flats to the government’s housing stock for employees. Each unit includes a bedroom, lobby, kitchen and washroom. Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary and senior officials were present as the CM said the project strengthens residential infrastructure and supports employee welfare.
  5. LG Sinha At JU Convocation|‘AI Is a Reality—Adapt Quickly’: At the University of Jammu’s 19th (Second Special) Convocation, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha urged the academic fraternity to adopt a skill-first approach and strengthen research using emerging technologies. He told students that humility, hard work and constant learning remain essential for navigating a rapidly transforming economy.
  6. CM Omar Highlights Education Reforms At Jammu University Convocation : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said his government has implemented transformative reforms to enhance access and quality in higher education across J&K. Speaking at the University of Jammu convocation, he congratulated graduates and said the changes directly benefit institutions and students. The ceremony was attended by LG Manoj Sinha, MPs, top officials, faculty and parents.
