District Admin Facilitates Live Streaming of PM’s address

Kulgam: The Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh Pakhwada concluded Saturday with a mega function held at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat, Kulgam, witnessed enthusiastic participation from the tribal community, public representatives, officers, and students.

As part of the nationwide commemoration, the District Administration also facilitated the live streaming of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address.

The programme was presided over by DDC Chairperson Kulgam, Mohd Afzal Parrey, and attended by DDC Members including Jameela Chowdhary, Riyaz Ahmad Bhat , Sheikh Gulzar Ahmad, Gh. Mohi-Ud-Din lone, along with the ADC Kulgam,Viqar Ahmed Giri; ACR,Riyaz Ahmad Shah; ACD,Bilal Ahmad Kamgar and other district officers. A large gathering from the tribal community was present as well.

On the occasion, the DDC Chairperson highlighted the inspiring life and legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, recalling his pivotal role in India’s freedom struggle and his relentless efforts to safeguard tribal rights.

He also spoke about various government schemes aimed at tribal welfare and appreciated the District Administration for their effective implementation at the grassroots level.

Speaking during the event, DDC Member Manzgam, Jameela Chowdhary paid heartfelt tributes on the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda. She described his life as a symbol of courage and resistance and emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting Gojri culture, an integral part of cultural identity.

Addressing the gathering, ADC highlighted Birsa Munda’s significant contribution to India’s freedom movement and his role in advancing the rights of tribal communities.

Other speakers also reflected on the enduring legacy of Birsa Munda and the importance of sustained efforts toward tribal welfare, empowerment.

Students from Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) presented a compelling skit portraying the life, struggle, and contributions of Birsa Munda.
