Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has initiated a comprehensive enquiry across the Police DistrictAwantipora. SDPOs along with SHOs visited all car dealers operating within their respective jurisdictions and checked details regarding the sale and purchase of vehicles by them.
In a statement issued here on Friday Police said that the enquiry also focuses on instances where multiple vehicles have been purchased by a single individual. Officers also ensured proper verification and documentation during their visits.
The car dealers were also advised to maintain proper records of each transaction, including Aadhaar card details, phone numbers, and contact information of both the buyer and the seller, to ensure transparency and accountability in vehicle dealings. In its statement police also said that the exercise aims to strengthen surveillance mechanisms .
