Awantipora : The Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST) recently hosted a team of faculty members from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, who visited the Department of Mechanical Engineering to explore avenues of collaboration in Robotics, Automation, and Intelligent Systems.
A visiting delegation engaged with faculty and students while touring significant facilities such as the Robotics and Intelligent Machines Lab and the Centre for Industry 4.0 (C4i4). They commended the advanced infrastructure, student-led projects, and the innovative curriculum of the newly introduced B.Tech. in Robotics and Automation program, which focuses on experiential learning and interdisciplinary integration. Both institutions have agreed to establish student exchange programs during summer and winter internships, laying the groundwork for a collaborative framework that will foster joint research, innovation, and skill development. This partnership is anticipated to expand into joint workshops, research proposals, and prototype development initiatives in areas of shared interest.
