SSP, ADC Flag off cycle race to mark 150 Years of National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ in Bandipora

Bandipora : As part of the ongoing commemoration of 150 Years of the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’, a cycle race was organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Bandipora in collaboration with the District Administration Bandipora, Department of Information and Public Relations Bandipora, Forest Department and the Education Department.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora, Ajaz Ahmad Zargar, and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl, jointly flagged off the cycle race from the DC Office Bandipora, which culminated at ChitternarAyathmulla, drawing enthusiastic participation from students.

At the concluding ceremony held at Chitternar, ADC Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl said that the National Song should be in our hearts, and everyone must encourage others to celebrate and learn its true significance. He urged participants to stay away from drugs, focus on health and their life goals, and contribute positively to society.

On the occasion, the ADC further stressed the importance of protecting the environment and maintaining cleanliness, highlighting that discipline and civic responsibility are essential virtues of true patriotism. He congratulated all participants for their enthusiasm and spirit of national unity displayed during the event.

Position holders were felicitated by the officers at the closing ceremony for their outstanding performance and sportsmanship.

The successful conduct of the event was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Department of Information and Public Relations Bandipora, Education Department, Forest Department and Bandipora Police, whose teamwork ensured smooth organisation and widespread participation.

During the celebrations, different programmes were conducted in schools and colleges across the district, where students and staff took part in different activities and events based on the themes of patriotism and national unity.

Among others, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation of DFO Bandipora, Wasim Farooq; Deputy Chief Education Officer, DySP Bandipora, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, SHO Bandipora, and officials from various departments.
