Bandipora : Continuing the week-long celebrations commemorating 150 years of India’s National Song “Vande Mataram,” various departments and educational institutions across Bandipora district Wednesday organized patriotic programmes, special assemblies, and environmental activities reflecting deep national pride and enthusiasm.

At the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Madar, Bandipora, students and staff, along with officials from the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) Bandipora, held a special morning assembly. The gathering echoed with the powerful rendition of “Vande Mataram,” as participants sang the song together, filling the campus with national devotion. The event also included short speeches on the historical and cultural significance of the National Song.

Similarly, at the R&B Office Bandipora, employees gathered to sing the National Song “Vande Mataram” and waved the National Flag amid a spirited display of patriotism and unity. The event fostered a collective sense of national pride among the staff, reinforcing the essence of the ongoing “Vande Mataram” campaign.

Meanwhile, the Government Degree College (GDC) Hajin organized a plantation drive under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Gazala Firdous to celebrate the milestone.

The drive aimed to promote environmental awareness and sustainable living while honouring the patriotic ideals symbolized by “Vande Mataram.” Students and faculty members enthusiastically planted a variety of saplings within the campus, reflecting their commitment to both environmental preservation and national service.

Similar programmes were conducted in schools and colleges across the district, where students and staff took part in different activities and events based on the themes of patriotism and national unity.

These activities were part of the broader district-wide “Vande Mataram” campaign, which continues to unite institutions, departments, and citizens in celebrating the values of patriotism, unity, and harmony.
