Bandipora : As part of the ongoing “Vande Mataram” campaign commemorating 150 years of the National Song, the District Sheep Husbandry Department Bandipora and the Municipal Council Bandipora Tuesda organized special patriotic and awareness events aimed at promoting national pride, cleanliness, and community participation across the district.

At the Mini Secretariat Bandipora, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl, in presence of District Sheep Husbandry Officer (DSHO), Dr. Peer Irshad, flagged off a group of 30 sheep farmers for an exposure tour to SKUAST-Kashmir under the State Extension Programme (ATMA Scheme), a component of the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Extension (SMAE).

Before the departure, the National Song “Vande Mataram” was played, and all participants including the ADC, DSHO, officials, and beneficiaries joined in singing the song with patriotic fervour, marking a spirited start to the event.

The exposure tour, organized to the Mountain Research Centre for Sheep and Goat (MRCSG), Shuhama, aimed to provide farmers an opportunity to interact with scientists and experts, gain exposure to modern livestock technologies, and learn about advanced breeding and management practices for improving productivity and livelihoods.

Meanwhile, at the Town Hall Bandipora, the Municipal Council Bandipora organized a patriotic gathering, where the National Song “Vande Mataram” was played and sung collectively by participants with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Similar programmes were conducted in schools and colleges across the district, where students and staff took part in essay writing, debates, quizzes, painting, and slogan-writing competitions based on the themes of patriotism and national unity.

All events were conducted as part of the district-wide “Vande Mataram” celebrations, reflecting Bandipora’s collective commitment toward fostering patriotism, harmony, and community engagement.
