Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler along with contraband substance during a patrolling at Karewa Hasti Khud, Zadoorain Pulwama.
Police in a statement issued here on Tuesday said that the drug peddler was nabbed while he was travelling from Zadoora towards Chadoora–Newaidentified as Javid Ahmad Shergojri S/o Ab Salam Shergojri R/o Zadoora, Pulwama . During search, 16.940 grams of poppy straw-like substance was recovered from the possession of the said accused besides which a case under FIR No. 267/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pulwama . An investigation initiated is currently underway. In its statement police reaffirmed its firm resolve to eradicate the drug menace and appealed people to cooperate by sharing any information related to drug trafficking or its facilitators.
