Srinagar : In connection with the celebration of 150 years of the National Pride – “Vande Mataram”, the Cultural Unit, Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) Jammu Tuesday organised cultural programmes at Apsara Road and Raghunath Bazar, featuring colourful presentations on themes of unity, integrity and nationalism.

The programmes celebrated the 150 glorious years of the iconic National song “Vande Mataram,” a timeless symbol of India’s unity, strength, and freedom. The celebrations aimed to reignite the spirit of patriotism and remind citizens of the enduring legacy of the National song that continues to inspire generations.

Artists from the Cultural Unit DIPR, Jammu presented patriotic songs and theme-based presentations, beautifully capturing the essence of national pride and cultural harmony. The highlight of the event was the collective rendition of “Vande Mataram” by the artists of the Cultural Unit, which resonated with patriotic fervour among the audience.

Adding grandeur to the celebrations, the Jammu and Kashmir Police Band (JKP Band) presented soul-stirring patriotic tunes, evoking a deep sense of national pride and drawing applause from the crowd gathered at the twin venues.

A large number of people, including locals, traders, students and visitors, witnessed the programmes with great enthusiasm. The events also witnessed the presence of officers and officials from the Department of Information and Public Relations and the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

The twin events at Apsara Road and Raghunath Bazar formed part of the Phase-I of the celebration of 150 Years of “Vande Mataram”, being organised across the Country to spread the message of national unity, pride, and cultural togetherness through the medium of art and music.

The entire programme was conducted under the guidance of Joint Director Information Jammu Deepak Dubey and supervision of Cultural Officer Mukesh Kumar.
