DC Shopian holds interactive session with Sanitation workers to review Welfare Measures

Shopian : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta Tuesday held an interactive session with the sanitation workers of Municipal Council Shopian to assess their welfare and working conditions, and to seek feedback regarding issues faced on ground.

During the interaction, the Deputy Commissioner inquired in detail about the health and safety aspects of sanitation workers, availability and use of protective gears, access to healthcare, and the overall well-being of their families.

The sanitation staff shared their suggestions and highlighted certain operational challenges that require attention.

The DC appreciated the crucial role of sanitation workers in ensuring cleanliness, public hygiene and better living conditions for citizens of Shopian. He reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment towards safeguarding their rights and improving their service conditions.

Directions were issued to CEO Municipal Council Shopian for timely redressal of genuine grievances raised during the session.

The DC also urged the sanitation workforce to continue their dedicated efforts and maintain high standards of cleanliness across the town, assuring full support from the administration in strengthening sanitation services and welfare measures.
