Ramban: The spirit of patriotism resonated across District RambanTuesday as the District Administration, under the aegis of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, organized a series of vibrant activities to mark the 150th anniversary of India’s National Song “Vande Mataram.” The day witnessed a unique blend of art, culture, and civic responsibility as people from all walks of life united to celebrate the timeless message of national pride and unity.

In a colorful display of creativity, participants painted patriotic murals, while cleanliness and beautification drives were carried out in the Municipal Committees of Ramban, Banihal, Batote, and adjoining areas—symbolizing both the aesthetic and moral spirit of “Vande Mataram.”

Adding to the fervour, a mass rally by the students and staff of Government Polytechnic College Ramban spread the message of unity and integrity. The rally, which began at the college campus and culminated near the PDC office, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members alike.

Various events and competitions echoed throughout the district, with “Vande Mataram” programs held in several colleges and schools including GDC Ramban, Girls High School Ramban, Rajgarh, Government High School Jhatgalli, HS Gurwati and HSS Sanasar. The celebrations also featured a joint event organized by the PWD Division Banihal and Municipal Committee Banihal, as well as another by the Sub-Division and PWD Batote in collaboration with MC Batote.

At Government Polytechnic College Ramban, an Essay Writing Competition and an Online Quiz Competition were held, drawing wide participation. Eleven candidates were shortlisted for the essay competition, with Mohammed Maneer, Rahat Sideeq and Akshay Kumar emerging as winners. In the online quiz, Kartikay Raj Manahas, Satish Singh Bali and Deepak Singh secured the top three positions.

The ongoing celebrations have infused the district with patriotic zeal, reinforcing the eternal values of unity, sacrifice and love for the nation.
