Police inaugurates Cricket Tournament for Specially-abled persons in Shopian

Srinagar : Police in Shopian on Monday inaugurated a Cricket Tournament for Specially-Abled Persons at Sports Stadium Batapora, Shopian. The tournament features teams from various districts and aims to promote inclusivity, sportsmanship and recognition of the exceptional talent of differently-abled sportspersons.

The tournament was inaugurated by SSP Shopian Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, SSP Shopian encouraged all participants to play with enthusiasm, spirit and fairness. He emphasized the importance of sports in shaping character, fostering discipline, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. SSP Shopian, also highlighted the pivotal role of sports in building a drug-free, crime-free and progressive society, reiterating that youth engagement is vital for peace and prosperity in the district.

The inaugural match was played between Shopian Strikers and Anantnag Legends, showcasing their talent and competitive spirit.
