Srinagar: Police in Shopian have filed 13 applications for bail cancellation in cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act – UAPA.
According to a police statement issued here on Monday the action was taken after it was found that several accused accused who had been granted bail by the competent courts, were violating bail conditions and re-engaging in activities detrimental to public order and security. These violations were meticulously documented during regular surveillance and review of UAPA cases by the police. Strict legal action is being pursued to ensure that such individuals do not exploit legal relief to continue anti-national or unlawful activities. In its statement police reiterated its commitment to continue operations to uproot the terror ecosystem and all forms of support structures aiding terrorism.
