Srinagar|Nov, 11 : A day after the Delhi blast that left eight people dead and several others injured, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have detained at least four persons for questioning, officials privy to the development said.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the car which was the source of the explosion had been purchased by a Pulwama resident just weeks earlier.
According to officials, the J&K Police have detained the brother of Dr. Umar Nabi, a Pulwama resident who has been absconding since police recently busted a large inter-state and transnational terror module linked to the proscribed outfits Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH). Seven people, including two doctors, were arrested in that operation.
Investigators in Kashmir believe that the high-intensity explosion outside Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening is linked to the terror module that was recently unearthed.
They said Dr. Umar Nabi, who had been working at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, has been on the run since the busting of the module.
Police have also detained another resident of Pulwama whose Aadhaar card was allegedly used to purchase the car that was the source of the blast.
