DLSA Pulwama celebrates Legal Services Day

Pulwama: In compliance to the directions of JK Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pulwama under the Chairmanship of Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Pulwama, Malik Shabir Ahmad and under the supervision of Secretary DLSA Pulwama, Mudasar Farooq, celebrated “Legal Services Day” by organizing legal awareness programme in the ADR Centre District Court Complex Pulwama.

The programme was attended by Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Pulwama, Malik Shabir Ahmad and Ld. Chief Judicial Magistrate Pulwama, Muzamil Ahmad Wani.

On this occasion Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Pulwama delivered the special address and highlighted the efficacy of the event to the participants regarding the “Legal Services Day” and highlighted the importance of the concepts of free legal aid, pre-litigation, mediation, conciliations and arbitration were highlighted and laid emphasis for organizing a special awareness campaign to the participants.

Chief LADC Pulwama, Mehraj-ud-din Wani also spoke on the occasion regarding the legal aid services, importance and role of Legal Services institutions at District and Tehsil level.

The legal awareness programme was attended by LADCs, DLSA Staff members, PLVs and general public.

Besides, to commemorate legal services day, District Legal Services Authority had also organized a week-long awareness campaign from 03 November by organizing awareness programmes and door to door campaign in far flung areas of Tral, Awantipora, Pampore, to raise awareness about free legal services and different NALSA Schemes. The initiative emphasized the theme of “Access to Justice For All” ensuing that weaker and marginalized section of the society are educated about their Legal Rights and Free Legal Services available to them through different legal services institutions.

Moreover, the Legal Services Day was also celebrated by all the Tehsil Legal Services Committees of District Pulwama at their respective Tehsil headquarters.
