Shopian: District Administration Shopian Saturday organized an exposure visit of 30 Self Help Group (SHG) members of the district to Industrial Estate Gagren under the Youth Engagement Programme.

During the visit, the participants were sensitized about various aspects of industrial processes and gained first-hand knowledge regarding the production cycle, raw materials, and supply chain mechanisms of different industrial units.

The group visited several food processing units, including those involved in the production of spices, mechanized bakery items, juices, jams, and pickles. They also visited printing units, where they observed flex, offset, and digital printing services along with duplex and industrial printing processes.

Additionally, the participants explored CNC router carving, wooden tile and joinery units, and cement-based industries engaged in the manufacture of solid blocks, hollow blocks, bricks, tiles, and interlocking pavers.

For many of the participants, it was the first time they had witnessed such industrial operations closely. The exposure visit proved to be an eye-opening experience, as they became more aware of the potential and opportunities in local industries.

Several participants expressed that they are now motivated and convinced to establish their own industrial units in the near future. The participants also conveyed their gratitude to the District Administration for organizing such informative events, stating that they gained valuable insights into industrial operations and hoped that such initiatives would continue in the future as well.
