Kishtwar: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma Saturday chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of key social security schemes — Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) — under the Financial Inclusion Programme.

The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the registration status and coverage achieved under the twin schemes in the district. He emphasized the need to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries are brought under the ambit of these insurance schemes to provide them with essential financial security.

The Block Development Officers (BDOs), Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) and Health Department officials were directed to submit the updated status of PMSBY and PMJJBY forms distributed by the DC Office.

Banks were also directed to expedite the processing of forms received from various departments to avoid delays in beneficiary enrollment.

The meeting further discussed the overall district performance on Financial Inclusion (FI) parameters, with a focus on improving outreach and coordination among departments and financial institutions.

The DC stressed that the timely implementation of these social security schemes is vital to ensuring inclusive development and the financial empowerment of citizens, particularly those from economically weaker sections.

The meeting was attended by CPO Kishtwar, Akhil Thakur, ACD Kishtwar, Musharaf Ali Haf, CDPO Drabshalla/DIO Kishtwar, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, LDM Kishtwar, Harsh Rawal, Dy. CEO Kishtwar, Masood Ahmed Qazi besides other officers and concerned staff.
