Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers in Awantipora and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
According to a police statement issued here on Friday a police team from Pampore Police Station, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) and supervised by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), conducted a routine patrol in Chandhara Nambal. During this operation, they intercepted three individuals: Raiees Ahmad Sheikh and Prince Ahmad Mir, both residents of Chandhara, and Manzoor Khan from Drangbal Pampore. Upon searching the suspects, the police recovered a total of 8 kilograms and 925 grams of charas powder. The individuals have been arrested, and an FIR No. 118/2025 has been filed under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, with an investigation currently underway. In its statement police appealed people to remain vigilant and report any drug-related activities or other criminal behavior to the nearest police station or by calling 112.
