Hajipur: Uunion Home Minister and former BJP National President Amit Shah today asserted that only the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar can ensure Bihar’s safety, unity and prosperity.
Addressing an election rally in Vaishali district in support of NDA candidates, Shah said that parties within the opposition alliance (Grand Alliance) were engaged in internal conflicts and infighting. A coalition that cannot maintain its own unity can never keep Bihar united, he said, asserting that only the NDA, led by Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi, can protect and develop Bihar.
Referring to the historical legacy of Vaishali, Shah said that this is the sacred land where the world’s first democratic principles were established through the Lichchhavi Republic. It is also the karmabhoomi of Lord Mahavir and Lord Buddha. Drawing a parallel with the Mahabharata, he described the NDA as a strong alliance of “five Pandavas” united to prevent the return of “Jungle Raj” in Bihar.
The union Minister launched a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), saying that during the Lalu-Rabri (erstwhile chief minister couple Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi) regime, Bihar witnessed massacres, murders, kidnappings, extortion and crimes against women.
That same Jungle Raj is now trying to return with new faces, new clothes and a new disguise, he said and exported the people of Bihar must stop this new version of Jungle Raj and strengthen Modi and Nitish.
Highlighting the Modi government’s achievements, Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi made India safe and prosperous. The grand Ram Temple has been built in Ayodhya, and a magnificent Sita Mata Temple worth Rs 850 crore will be constructed in Sitamarhi. Modi abolished Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and whenever terrorists attacked India, he gave Pakistan a fitting reply , from surgical strikes to Operation Sindoor that destroyed terror camps inside Pakistan.
Taking a jibe at the former UPA regime, Shah said that during that time, terrorists were treated to biryani but under the NDA, their headquarters were bombed. He warned that if RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav ever became chief minister, “Bihar will have three new kinds of ministers – one for kidnappings, one for extortion and one for promoting murder.”
Accusing the Lalu-Rahul alliance of large-scale corruption, Shah claimed that Lalu and Company, along with Rahul and Company, are responsible for scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore, including embezzlement in flood relief funds.
Expressing confidence in the NDA’s victory, Shah claimed that the enthusiasm of the people of Vaishali, the birthplace of democracy, shows that the NDA government will return to power in Bihar. UNI
