The Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the birth of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on October 31, 2019, marked the dawn of an aspirational era — one focused on peace, progress, and prosperity. In his words, “An aspirational J&K UT was born, and people’s dream of peace and progress was fulfilled within a short span of time.” He noted that the region has witnessed historic milestones in infrastructure, social welfare, and governance, ensuring the elimination of discrimination and the establishment of equality and social justice. Sinha attributed the progress to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that the vision of Sardar Patel and Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee — of an integrated and empowered Jammu and Kashmir — is being realized through all-round development. From the expansion of road connectivity and power infrastructure to the promotion of entrepreneurship and women empowerment, the UT has undergone a visible transformation in the last six years. However, the Lieutenant Governor also reminded the gathering that development must be accompanied by unity and vigilance. He called upon citizens to remain united against those who attempt to derail peace and stall the pace of progress. The Lieutenant Governor said “We must continue this journey as an unbreakable entity,” Stressing therein the need to safeguard the region’s growth from divisive elements. Sinha’s remarks on the ongoing termination of government employees involved in terror activities underlined the administration’s firm stance on cleansing the governance structure of any elements linked to the terror ecosystem. His assurance that such action would continue until complete eradication of terrorism from official systems reflects the government’s zero-tolerance approach towards anti-national activities. The Lieutenant Governor further reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir’s aspirations are now aligned with the aspirations of the entire nation.
