“Paying tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for unifying India Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has impressed upon  J&K prople  to follow Patel’s principles of unity and inclusive growth, asserting therein that establishment of the UT of J&K on October 31, 2019, was the beginning of a new, aspirational period focused on achieving peace, progress, and prosperity.”

The celebration of Union Territory Diwas on October 31st in Srinagar served as both a moment of reflection and reaffirmation of Jammu and Kashmir’s transformative journey since 2019. The Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, in his address on the occasion, paid glowing tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel — the architect of a unified India — while urging the people of J&K to uphold the spirit of unity and inclusive development that Patel stood for. The Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the birth of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on October 31, 2019, marked the dawn of an aspirational era — one focused on peace, progress, and prosperity. In his words, “An aspirational J&K UT was born, and people’s dream of peace and progress was fulfilled within a short span of time.” He noted that the region has witnessed historic milestones in infrastructure, social welfare, and governance, ensuring the elimination of discrimination and the establishment of equality and social justice. Sinha attributed the progress to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that the vision of Sardar Patel and Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee — of an integrated and empowered Jammu and Kashmir — is being realized through all-round development. From the expansion of road connectivity and power infrastructure to the promotion of entrepreneurship and women empowerment, the UT has undergone a visible transformation in the last six years. However, the Lieutenant Governor also reminded the gathering that development must be accompanied by unity and vigilance. He called upon citizens to remain united against those who attempt to derail peace and stall the pace of progress.  The Lieutenant Governor said “We must continue this journey as an unbreakable entity,” Stressing therein the need to safeguard the region’s growth from divisive elements. Sinha’s remarks on the ongoing termination of government employees involved in terror activities underlined the administration’s firm stance on cleansing the governance structure of any elements linked to the terror ecosystem. His assurance that such action would continue until complete eradication of terrorism from official systems reflects the government’s zero-tolerance approach towards anti-national activities. The Lieutenant Governor further reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir’s aspirations are now aligned with the aspirations of the entire nation.

The Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has declared that the region’s ambitions are now aligned with the nation’s, marking a pivotal shift toward integration and collective growth. This transformative vision is driven by the “4 Ps”: Peace, Progress, Prosperity, and People First. These principles form the bedrock of a strategy designed to achieve widespread well-being through unity and collective effort. Inspired by the foresight of Sardar Patel, the administration operates under a model of “transformative governance”. The October 31 celebrations have proudly showcased its tangible success, highlighting inspirational stories of young achievers and budding entrepreneurs across the region. A fully developed Jammu and Kashmir is indispensable for a developed India, a goal to be achieved through unwavering unity and inclusive development that leaves no citizen behind.”

The Lieutenant Governor underlined the need to follow the path guided by the “4 Ps” — Peace, Progress, Prosperity, and People First — to transform unity into widespread prosperity. The message was clear: Jammu and Kashmir’s future lies in collective effort and constructive participation. The celebration also showcased the progress made under what LG Sinha described as “an era of transformative governance.” A photo exhibition depicted the developmental strides across sectors, while young achievers and entrepreneurs shared their success stories, symbolizing the new face of J&K — confident, innovative, and forward-looking. As Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory enters another year of its journey, the message from the top leadership is unambiguous — the path to a Viksit Bharat begins with a Viksit Jammu and Kashmir. Unity, integrity, and inclusive development remain the foundation of this vision — a vision inspired by Sardar Patel’s legacy and carried forward through steadfast governance and people’s participation.
