IGP Kashmir reviews security, traffic arrangements for darbar move

Srinagar : Inspector General of Police Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, on Friday convened a high level security review meeting at the Police Control Room in Kashmir to finalize security and traffic arrangements for the Darbar Move from Srinagar to Jammu. The meeting was attended senior officials from Traffic Police, Security Wing, and intelligence agencies, highlighting the collaborative effort required for this operation.
The IGP discussed with senior officer all the critical aspects of the movement, including convoy security, route regulation, and personnel deployment. IGP Kashmir underscored the importance of comprehensive area domination along the National Highway to ensure the safe passage of official vehicles. He directed an increase in patrolling, checkpoints, and the establishment of quick response teams, particularly in vulnerable areas like Qazigund, Banihal, Ramban, and Udhampur. Additionally, the security arrangements at railway stations in the Valley were reviewed, with an emphasis on enhanced surveillance and coordination with Railway Police to safeguard officials and their belongings during train travel. IGP Birdi stressed the need for inter-agency coordination, timely communication of movement schedules, and minimizing public inconvenience. Field officers were instructed to maintain high alertness and ensure robust security measures while monitoring movements in real-time. The IGP commended the efforts of all involved units and encouraged them to work in close synergy to ensure the Darbar Move is executed safely, smoothly, and efficiently.
