DC Kupwara flags Off ‘Run for Unity’ to Mark Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th Birth Anniversary; Ekta Diwas Pledge administered

Kupwara : In a vibrant celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the District Administration Kupwara organized a “Run for Unity” from the DC Office Complex Kupwara to Government Degree College Kupwara as part of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) celebrations.

The event aimed to promote national integration, unity, and harmony among the youth.

The run was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, in presence of Senior Superintendent of Police Kupwara, Al Tahir Gilani, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, ACR, ASP, CEO, and other officers from the district administration, My Bharat Mera Yuva Bharat, and the Department of Youth Services & Sports.

A large number of students representing various educational institutions of the district enthusiastically participated in the event, showcasing discipline, enthusiasm, and patriotic spirit. The run passed through Mughalpora and culminated at Government Degree College Kupwara. Various cultural programmes were also performed by students from different schools of the district, adding colour and vibrancy to the celebrations.

Addressing the participants, Shrikant Suse highlighted the significance of the ‘Run for Unity’ and said the event was organized across the country to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He noted that the day, observed as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, serves as a reminder of Patel’s invaluable contribution in uniting the nation.

On this occasion Ekta Diwas Pledge was also administered to all participants.

He highlighted Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vital role in strengthening India’s unity and integrity.

The DC also informed that from 7th to 14th November, a series of events will be organised to commemorate the 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram”.

Terming youth as the symbol of strength and unity, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to channelize their energy and potential towards nation-building and appealed for performing our duties to ensure unity and integrity
