Ganderbal : The Central University of Kashmir (CUK), in partnership with My Bharat and the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, on Friday celebrated the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel through the “Sardar@150 Celebration” event held in Tulmulla.

The occasion aimed to honor Patel’s legacy as the “Iron Man of India” and to motivate the youth to embrace his principles of unity, integrity, and nation-building. The chief guest, Jatin Kishore (IAS), Deputy Commissioner of Ganderbal, emphasized Patel’s crucial role in unifying India and integrating princely states, urging attendees to reflect his dedication and vision in their own lives. Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, Registrar of CUK, highlighted Patel’s commitment to the nation and his enduring vision of “Ek Bharat” (One India), which continues to inspire national harmony and inclusive development. He commended the collaborative efforts of My Bharat and the university’s NSS Unit in organizing the event. Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Director of My Bharat, opened the event by stressing the significance of youth involvement in nation-building and social responsibility. The celebration included a Pad Yatra from the CUK campus to the Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple, symbolizing unity and collective strength, followed by a Unity Pledge Ceremony where participants reaffirmed their commitment to national integration. The event also featured cultural performances that showcased the theme of unity in diversity.
