Srinagar : District Police Ganderbal on Thursday said that it has achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending 2 long-time fugitives who had been evading arrest for the past 13 years.
According to a police statement issued here on Thursday a dedicated police team led by SHO Police Station Safapora SI Gulzar Hussain, after sustained and meticulous efforts traced the duo from Bangalore and Maharashtra, where they were arrested. The arrested accused have been identified as Mudasir Ahmad War S/o Nazir Ahmad War R/o Batpora Sopore and Mushtaq Ahmad Wani S/o Ali Mohammad Wani R/o LolporaKunzar Tangmarg. As per police statement the duo was wanted in connection with FIR No. 34/2013 under section 392, 511, 34 RPC and FIR No. 17/2013 under section 366, 109 RPC.
In its statement police said that their apprehension brings an end to over more than a decade of evasion and ensures that they face the due course of law.
