KU commences Vigilance Awareness week to promote integrity, transparency

Srinagar : The University of Kashmir (KU) has initiated Vigilance Awareness Week at its Main Campus, highlighting its dedication to fostering ethical conduct and institutional integrity within its administration and academic spheres.

The event, themed “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility,” is organized in partnership with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to enhance transparency, accountability, and collective responsibility among university staff and students. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan emphasized the importance of integrity in decision-making, stating that vigilance is essential for preventing wrongdoing and building trust within the university community. Registrar Prof. Naseer Iqbal echoed this sentiment, noting that self-discipline and awareness are foundational to good governance and institutional trust. SSP Javaid Hassan Bhat from the ACB highlighted the critical role of public vigilance in combating corruption, asserting that citizen engagement is key to fostering a transparent society. Prof. Shahnaz, Dean of the School of Law, stressed the need for raising awareness about ethical governance among students.
