CS reviews progress on BISAG-N Projects, Hails their role in digital governance, e-service delivery

Srinagar: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Wednesdaychaired a high-level meeting to assess the progress of technology-driven projects in Jammu and Kashmir, implemented in collaboration with the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-Informatics (BISAG-N). The meeting was attended by top officials from various departments, emphasizing the importance of timely completion of projects in sectors like Education, Agriculture, and Revenue to achieve desired outcomes.
Addressing the meeting Dulloo lauded the Department of Information Technology and BISAG-N for their successful rollout of digital platforms under the Digital J&K initiative. He highlighted the transformative potential of technology, particularly in enhancing educational outcomes through AI and localized learning, and improving agricultural productivity via timely forecasts and advisories. The meeting reviewed several key initiatives, including the Integrated Mining Surveillance System (IMSS), which has successfully implemented Phase-I to combat illegal mining. The J&K Tourism App, featuring an AI Chatbot, was launched to enhance visitor experiences and has gained over 1,000 downloads. Additionally, an AI-Based GST Fraud Detection module has been developed to identify tax evasion patterns. A mobile application has facilitated the survey of 3.35 lakh houseless and landless urban households in J&K. The PM-Gati Shakti Integrations are nearing completion, with mobile applications for various departments to improve asset mapping. A unified digital platform for the Power Department aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in operations. The meeting also discussed the digitalization efforts in the Education Department, including the development of an Education Management Information System and a Student Attendance Mobile App. The Revenue Department is undergoing modernization with upgrades to its systems and workflows. Dulloo reiterated the government’s commitment to leveraging digital tools and AI solutions for better public service delivery, emphasizing the need for sustained collaboration between the IT Department and BISAG-N to achieve comprehensive digitization and enhance transparency and accountability across Jammu and Kashmir.
