Srinagar : Several members of the Legislative Assembly Tuesday raised pressing public issues of their respective constituencies during the Zero Hour in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, urging the Government to take prompt action.
MLAs Shakti Raj Parihar (Doda West), Advocate Vijay Gupta (Hiranagar), and Pawan Gupta (Udhampur West) urged the Education department to expedite the Annual Transfer Drive (ATD) for teachers posted in far-flung areas of the Jammu division and immediately conduct Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs) for teachers and lecturers awaiting elevation.
Responding to the concerns, Minister in-charge, Education Department, Sakeena Itoo informed the House that the matter is already under process and a committee has been constituted for carrying out ATD timely.
