The event was part of the Swachhotsav initiative, an outreach campaign by the Ministry of Education, aimed at promoting sustainable habits and responsible waste management, particularly among the youth. Dr. Kaukab Azeem, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Chairperson of Swachhotsav, emphasized that the seminar’s goal was to foster critical thinking and action-oriented discussions on sustainability. He highlighted the importance of viewing waste not as an endpoint but as a resource that can be recycled and repurposed, urging individuals to rethink their waste management habits. NSS Coordinator Dr. Shabir Ahmad described the seminar as a crucial step towards a sustainable future, addressing one of the most pressing challenges of our time and paving the way for innovative solutions. Dr. Ashaq Hussain Najar, Coordinator of DTS, provided practical examples from the hospitality sector, illustrating how leading hotel chains in India are transforming waste management into a cycle of resource recovery t
