Vigilance Awareness Week-2025 kicked-off across Kashmir Division with Integrity Pledge Ceremonies

Div Com Administers Integrity Pledge to DCs

Srinagar : In a strong collective stance against corruption, Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 themed “Vigilance–Our Shared Responsibility”,” commenced Monday across Kashmir division with hosting of pledge-taking ceremonies by district administrations engaging officers and staff to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability.

The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg administered the Integrity Pledge to all Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Kashmir Division and other officers through a virtual ceremony held in the Div Com Office. Officers and officials of the Divisional Commissioner’s Office also joined the pledge, reaffirming their commitment to uphold the highest standards of honesty and integrity in public administration.

At BUDGAM: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Srinagar, in collaboration with the District Administration Budgam, organised a Workshop on Vigilance Awareness in the Conference Hall Budgam under the aegis of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025.The DC Budgam Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat was the chief guest on the occasion. Among others present were ADC Budgam, representatives from Anti-Corruption Bureau Srinagar, Tehsildar Charar-i-Sharief, and other district officials.Representatives from ACB Srinagar addressed the gathering and spoke about corruption, its adverse effects on society, and measures to curb and eradicate it. A detailed PowerPoint presentation was delivered by DySP ACB Srinagar, Zahid Rashid, highlighting various acts, provisions, and procedures for combating corruption.Speaking on the occasion, DC Budgam said that the Anti-Corruption Bureau is a credible institution working tirelessly to curb the menace of corruption. AT BARAMULLA: As part of Vigilance Awareness Week being observed from October 27 to November 2, 2025, a pledge-taking ceremony was Monday held at Dak Bungalow Baramulla under the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa led the officers and officials in taking the vigilance pledge and highlighted the importance of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in public service.Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the aim of introducing online public services is to bring transparency and ensure the timely implementation of government schemes. He stressed that the root cause of corruption often lies in delays and lack of timely delivery of public services, and emphasized the need for all departments to ensure that public services are delivered to citizens on time.The DC urged officials to uphold integrity in their work and contribute collectively towards creating a corruption-free and transparent governance system in the district.

AT PULWAMA: As part of the Vigilance Awareness Week, a series of activities were organised across Pulwama, including Integrity Pledges at the District level led by the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, similar pledges and awareness sessions at Sub-Division, Tehsil and Block levels.Besides, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), South Kashmir (Anantnag), in collaboration with the District Administration Pulwama, organised a Mega Awareness Programme at Circuit House Pulwama. The event was part of a series of awareness programmes scheduled to be held across the week from 27th October to 2nd November 2025 for various departments.The programme was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pulwama, Dr. S.M. Ashraf, and attended by officers and officials of the Revenue Department. The programme was held under this year’s theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility” and aimed at eradicating corruption and promoting transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in governance.Speaking on the occasion, ADC Pulwama highlighted the significance of building a culture of integrity within public institutions and emphasised that transparency and accountability form the cornerstone of effective public service delivery. He urged all government employees to remain steadfast in upholding ethical standards. Furthermore, during the programme, Dy. SP ACB Anantnag, Mansha Beigh, delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation highlighting various aspects of corruption, its causes, and its far-reaching impact on national development. The presentation also covered the role of anti-corruption agencies, mechanisms for lodging complaints, and the operational framework of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Jammu and Kashmir, including procedures for verifications, preliminary enquiries, joint surprise checks, and registration of FIRs. Furthermore, participants also engaged in an interactive discussion on promoting ethical governance and shared practical measures for strengthening vigilance mechanisms at the departmental level.Earlier, all participants took the Integrity Pledge, reaffirming their collective resolve to uphold transparency, integrity, and ethical conduct in public life.The programme concluded with a question-and-answer session, wherein participants sought clarifications on various vigilance-related matters and shared their experiences in implementing anti-corruption practices at the grassroots level.On similar lines, a series of awareness programmes and workshops are scheduled to be organised across the district during the week for departments such as Health, Rural Development, Transport, Education, and Power Development Department (PDD), among others.
