Jammu : Election Observers for bye-elections to Nagrota Assembly Constituency Monday inspected polling stations in remote areas of Nagrota and Dansal, accessible only on foot.
The team, comprising Kunal Silku (General Observer); Avinash Kumar (Police Observer) and Ashish Jadav (Expenditure Observer) interacted with the locals and officials.
The team issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned ARO, police and other officials to make available adequate lighting, drinking water facilities and accessible ramps at polling stations.
Special emphasis was laid on creating awareness about the polling process among the voters, promoting grievance cell services and encouraging maximum voters’ participation in a well-organised and peaceful manner.
