DLC meeting approves 165 Cases under HADP and JKCIP for agri sector development in Shopian

Shopian : A meeting regarding the implementation of Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and Jammu & Kashmir Comprehensive Investment Plan (JKCIP) was Monday held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta here at Mini-Secretariat Shopian.

The department heads submitted 165 cases for consideration,which were scrutinized for permissibility. After the verification and deliberations and confirming the rules,the committee approved all165 cases for financial assistance and technical support under different agri and allied sectors.

Under the Agriculture sector, 46 cases were sanctioned focusing on area expansion, creation of water management systems and promotion of protected cultivation.

In the Horticulture sector, a total of 45 units were approved, 22 under HADP, focusing on management of water storage facilities and 23 under JKCIP, promoting expansion of apple nursery, development of apple and pear aimed at strengthening horticultural infrastructure and supporting orchardists through various interventions.

Similarly, under the Sheep Husbandry sector, 48 units were approved, 27 under HADP and 21 under JKCIP, including sheep reproduction units, tent PP sheds and other enterprise-based interventions to promote sustainable livestock rearing and entrepreneurship.

Under the Animal Husbandry sector, 26 cases of HADP including establishment of dairy units and automatic milk collection units were approved.

On the occasion, the DC stressed upon the officers to facilitate beneficiaries and expedite field-level activities so that the objectives of both HADP and JKCIP are effectively achieved.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone; GM, DIC, Shurjil Naik; ACR, Shakoor Ahmad Dar, DIO,CAHO, DSHO, CAO, CHO, AMO, Dy.Registrar, AD Fisheries and officers from Sericulture, J&K Bank and others associated with the implementation of these flagship programmes.
