Srinagar: Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) has made significant progress in combating Pakistan-backed terror propaganda and recruitment networks on social media by filing a charge sheet against Aadil Ahmad Khan, a terrorist aide, in a special NIA court. The charges pertain to a terror recruitment module that operates covertly on social media, aiming to radicalize and recruit youth in Jammu and Kashmir for terrorist organizations, particularly those supported by Pakistan.
In a statement issued here on Saturday a CIK spokesman said that the investigation was initiated based on credible information regarding individuals and entities in Pakistan collaborating with terrorist handlers from groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) to entice Kashmiri youth into anti-national activities. Three other individuals, Waseem Ahmad Sheikh, Junaid Ahmad Mir, and Shabir Ahmad Gojri, have also been charged in connection with this case. Aadil Ahmad Khan was found to be running an online recruitment network on platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, where he disseminated content that glorified terrorism and promoted violent extremism. His activities not only involved online radicalization but also facilitated ground-level recruitment for terrorist organizations. The ongoing investigation aims to dismantle the broader online terror ecosystem, targeting handlers, sympathizers, and digital facilitators both within and outside the Union Territory. CIK and the J&K Police remain committed to neutralizing both physical and digital terror networks to protect the youth of the Valley from exploitation by Pakistan-sponsored propaganda. Further arrests and disclosures are anticipated as the investigation continues.
