Srinagar: Below is the weeklong timeline of key engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah witnessed within and outside J&K this week:-
- LG Felicitates Pashmina Artisans: Lieutenant Governor this week felicitated illustrious craftspersons of Jammu and Kashmir at the Pashmina Artisan Awards, organized by the Pashmeena Entrepreneurs Makers & Artisans Foundation. The awards recognized excellence in traditional crafts, with a core focus on the Pashmina sector. Officials highlighted that initiatives since 2020 have significantly boosted UT’s handicraft exports, positioning J&K as a key player in the global crafts market.
- CM Inaugurates Chrysanthemum Garden: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated Bagh-i-Gul-e-Dawood, J&K’s first exclusive Chrysanthemum Garden, at the Nehru Memorial Botanical Garden. Spread over five hectares, the garden features over one lakh chrysanthemum plants across more than 50 varieties, adding a vibrant charm to Kashmir’s autumn landscape and extending the garden tourism season.
- LG Addresses NEP Conclave 2025: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the inaugural session of NEP Conclave 2025, organized by the Higher Education Department. He said it is a matter of pride that Jammu and Kashmir is among the first UTs in the country to implement the National Education Policy across all higher educational institutions, creating a future-ready academic ecosystem.
- CM Reviews Darbar Move Preparations: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a high-level meeting to review arrangements for the upcoming Darbar Move. He assessed transportation, security, medical facilities, accommodation, and essential services for employees shifting to Jammu. Departments were directed to work in close coordination, with a dedicated control room set up by the Estates Department and minimal staff presence at the Winter Secretariat in Srinagar.
- Assembly Pays Tribute To Deceased Legislators: The Legislative Assembly observed obituary references, with CM Omar leading the House in paying homage to legislators who passed away since the previous session. The tributes recalled their invaluable contribution to public life and service to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
- LG Pays Tribute To J&K Police Martyrs : On Police Commemoration Day, LG Sinha paid heartfelt tributes to J&K Police martyrs, expressing deep gratitude to the brave personnel and their families for ensuring the safety of citizens and upholding the rule of law.
