Srinagar : Police on Saturday arrested six gamblers in Ganderbal and seized stake money along with playing cards from their possession.
According to a police statement issued here on Saturday a police team from Ganderbal Police Station while acting on specific inputs raided a gambling site in Gadoora. During the operation, six individuals were apprehended for their involvement in illegal gambling. The arrested individuals include Ajaz Ahmad Dar S/o Ghulam Mohammad Dar R/o Ellahibagh Rangpora, Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh S/o Gh. Mohammad Sheikh R/o Zaina Kadal, Tariq Ahmad Bhat S/o Bashir Ahmad Bhat R/o Ellahibagh, Adil Ahmad Dar S/o Mohd Ashraf R/o Ellahibagh Rangpora, Altaf Ahmad Kondu S/o Gh. Mohammad Kondu R/o Buchpora Soura and Mushtaq Ahmad Malla S/o Abdul Aziz Malla R/o Anchar Soura. The police seized a total of ₹30,520 in stake money along with playing cards from the suspects. Following the raid, a case has been registered under FIR No. 179/2025 at the Ganderbal Police Station, and further investigations are underway. In its statement police reiterated its commitment to maintain law and order and continue its crackdown on illegal activities in the area, warning therein that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per the law
