New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the nation in a letter on Deepavali, emphasizing the achievements of Operation Sindoor and the ongoing fight against Naxalism, positioning Bharat as a beacon of stability amid global crises.
In his letter Prime Minister highlighted the government’s decision to lower Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates, which has resulted in significant savings for citizens during the ‘GST Bachat Utsav’. Modi encouraged the adoption of swadeshi products to foster the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’, while also advocating for respect for all languages, prioritization of health, and the practice of yoga. He expressed that these collective efforts will lead the nation towards becoming a developed Bharat. The Prime Minister noted the significance of this Deepavali, marking the second celebration since the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, and pointed out that for the first time, lamps will be lit in districts previously affected by Naxalism, symbolizing a shift towards development and constitutional faith among citizens. He reiterated the importance of citizen responsibility in nation-building and projected that Bharat is on the path to becoming the world’s third-largest economy. Modi concluded by urging citizens to spread harmony and positivity, likening the act of lighting lamps to the growth of collective light in society.
