Poonch : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma has extended his warm greetings and good wishes to the people on the auspicious occasion of Diwali — the festival of lights.
In his message, the Deputy Commissioner said that Diwali signifies the illumination of people’s lives through good deeds and symbolizes the victory of good over evil and the triumph of truth. He added that the festival is a time to eradicate negativity from society and adopt a virtuous and harmonious lifestyle.
The DC prayed for the well-being of all citizens, wishing that this Diwali brings renewed joy, enthusiasm and hope, along with good health, prosperity and happiness for the people of the district.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Poonch visited various market areas of Poonch town to interact with the local populace and review on-ground arrangements and safety precautions ahead of the celebrations. He urged the public to celebrate Diwali in an eco-friendly manner and refrain from practices harmful to the environment.
