Absconder evading arrest for 7 years arrested in Kulgam: Police

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a wanted accused who had been evading arrest for the past seven years in Kulgam.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the arrested individual has been identified as Mohammad Fareed Bajard S/o Mohammad Qasim R/o GundahKhawas, Rajouri, wanted in Case FIR No. 74/2018 under sections 323 and 354 RPC of Police Station Yaripora who had been on the run since 2018 to evade arrest. Stating that while acting on specific intelligence inouts a Police team traced and apprehended the accused after persistent efforts, Police in its statement further said that following completion of legal formalities the said accused was produced before the Court.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police reiterated its firm commitment to bring absconders and proclaimed offenders to justice, just to ensure that no one evading law remains beyond its reach.
