Shopian: An awareness programme on Breast Cancer was Saturdayorganised here at Immunization Center, District Hospital, under the supervision of Ayush Medical Officer, Shopian.
The programme aimed to educate women about the early detection, prevention and treatment of breast cancer.
During the session, Medical Officers and health educators highlighted the importance of regular self-examination and early diagnosis in reducing mortality associated with breast cancer. They emphasised the need for continuous awareness among women and urged them to spread the message in their communities to ensure early detection and timely medical attention.
During the programme, a detailed presentation was delivered to provide detailed information about the causes, symptoms and importance of timely screening.
Women participants from different areas of the district attended the session and actively interacted with the resource persons.
The programme concluded with a pledge to promote health awareness and encourage women to undergo regular check-ups.
