Srinagar | Oct, 17: Police on Friday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
According to a police statement issued here on Friday a police party of Police Station Kunzer at a checkpoint established at Manglora Crossing intercepted a suspicious person identified as Irfan Rashid Zargar S/o Ab Rashid R/o Chewa Budgam and during his personal search, charas-like substance weighing approximately 26.5 grams concealed in a polythene bag was recovered from his possession. The accused has been arrested and a case vide FIR No. 115/2025 under sections 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kunzer, and investigation has been taken up.
Police in its statement reiterated its commitment in maintaining a drug-free society and appealed people to cooperate with it in the war against drugs and share any information regarding drug abuse or peddling to the nearest police station.
