Ramban| :  Guided by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah (17th September – 16th October 2025) — launched from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh — concluded Thursday with vibrant functions, mega camps, and widespread community participation across all four ICDS Projects of Ramban District — Banihal, Ramban, Gool, and Ramsoo.

The national campaign, held under the theme “Swasth Nari, SashaktPariwar”, emphasizes that women’s health and nutrition are the foundation of strong families and a Viksit Bharat.

The district-level celebration in Ramban was organised under the overall guidance and keen supervision of Programme Officer ICDS    Jahangir Hashmi,  whose personal involvement ensured that every activity was aligned with the six key themes of Poshan Maah 2025 and reached beneficiaries even in far-flung areas.

Thursday’s concluding events were held at Kaskoot Panchayat (Banihal) and in Zone Sumber and Neel (Ramsoo), featuring cultural performances, health awareness sessions, and interactive activities conducted by Anganwadi Workers and the Health Department. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to exemplary Anganwadi Workers, and all participants took a pledge to continue working towards the objectives of Poshan Maah at the grassroots level.

Speaking during one of the concluding camps, the Programme Officer ICDS Ramban informed that during the 30-day campaign, more than 2,000 families were reached across the district through awareness drives, growth monitoring of children, anaemia testing of women, and nutrition sensitisation activities. Taking guidance and inspiration from the six national themes — Early Childhood Care and Education, Prevention of Obesity, Infant and Young Child Feeding Practices, Promotion of Local Foods (Vocal for Local), Convergence with Health and Education Departments, and Inclusion of Men in Nutrition Initiatives — the district implemented several innovative interventions.

Under his guidance, the District Nutrition Committee introduced locally inspired recipe modifications for Anganwadi Centers  to promote healthy, traditional foods — replacing refined sugar with jaggery and Indian dates, incorporating walnuts , under Vocal for local and for their nutritional value, and reviving a traditional multigrain dish “Saswagura” to encourage balanced diets among children and women.

Throughout the campaign, Poshan Maah activities extended to remote and hilly areas such as Mahoo, Mangit, Pogal-Kunda, Gund, Chareel, Alinbass, Manzimkund, Gagarsulla and Sangaldan, reflecting the district’s strong commitment to inclusive participation and community-driven nutrition awareness.

The Programme Officer ICDS Ramban appreciated the convergence efforts between ICDS and the Health Department, acknowledging the dedicated role of CDPOs, supervisors, and Anganwadi workers in making the campaign a success. He reiterated the district’s resolve to ensure that “every home is nourished, every woman healthy, and every family strong,” in the true spirit of Suposhit Bharat – Swasth Bharat.
