Srinagar | : Police on Wednesday said that it has apprehended three long-time absconders in Srinagar and Shopian.
According to a statement issued from zonal Police headquarter Srinagar In Srinagar, two absconders were apprehended following intelligence inputs. Waseem Bhat, evading arrest since 2013, and Ab Rashid Shiekh, who has been on the run since 2021, were both produced before the Court after the completion of legal formalities. Additionally, in Shopian, police arrested Ab. Hamid Sheikh, who had been evading capture for a decade and was wanted in a case under section 307 RPC. A warrant for his arrest had been issued by the court. Following his arrest, he was also presented before the Court after following legal procedures. Police in its statement emphasized its commitment to uphold the rule of law and ensure that unlawfulls evading justice are brought to account.
