Kishtwar district in Jammu division and Baramulla in Kashmir Division figure among 100 districts of the country selected for implementation of the Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) and to be developed as Aspirational Agricultural Districts.  The selection of these districts was based on key indicators such as low crop productivity, low cropping intensity and lesser disbursement of short-term credit to farmers. The focus in Kishtwar under the scheme will be on improving the agricultural sector through enhanced crop productivity, promotion of crop diversification, development of irrigation infrastructure and strengthening of post-harvest management facilities.

On the sidelines of the event, PGS-India Organic Cluster Certificates were distributed among farmers to promote organic farming initiatives and encourage sustainable agricultural practices in the region.

The programme proceedings were conducted by District Level SMS Rajeev Katoch, while the vote of thanks was presented by Chief Agriculture Officer Jammu Manohar Lal Sharma.
