Launch of PM-DDKY: Live Telecast hosted at KVK, Rajouri

Rajouri | :  Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rajouri, working under the aegis of Directorate of Extension, SKUAST, Jammu, organized Live Telecast of launch of PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana and Mission Atamnirbharta in Pulses by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from ICAR-IARI, New Delhi.

The programme was organized in the premises of KVK and   attended by about 150 farmers from across the district, including Krishi Sakhis, Krishi Udhamis and PRI members. DHO Shafqat Hussain and DSHO Dr. P PSajotra were also present at the event.

Chief Scientist & Head KVK Dr. Arvind Kumar Ishar, in his inaugural address, gave an overview of the two schemes viz. PM-DDKY and Mission of Atamnirbharta in Pulses worth 35440 crores launched by the PM.

He further elaborated on other projects worth more than 5749 crores launched by the PM and informed the farmers that the government schemes aim to accelerate socio-economic upliftment of the farmers of the country.

Chief Scientist, RARS Dr. Vikas Sharma, while interacting with the farmers, gave detailed information of the Mission on Natural Farming.

He deliberated that the use of agrochemicals is causing deterioration of the soils and a lot of health hazards in public and adoption of Natural Farming is the only option to save humanity and nature.

Chief Scientist of KVK Dr. Suraj Parkash, in his address, encouraged the farmers to form FPOs, SHGs and FIGs to increase production and effectively market their produce.

Dr. Parul Gupta, SMS (Animal Science) also interacted with farmers and motivated them to inculcate Sheep, Goat and Poultry farming in their farming practice to add to their farm income.
