Ganderbal | : In connection with the observance of ‘International Girl Child Day’, Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti Ganderbal, under the aegis of the Department of Social Welfare, organized an awareness-cum-distribution programme at Government High School, (GHS) Chachinambal, Ganderbal, as part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign.
The event was aimed at highlighting the importance of education, health, and empowerment of the girl child.
On the occasion, stationery kits were distributed among girl students to encourage education and learning, while sports kits were handed over to the school to promote participation of girls in physical and co-curricular activities. Additionally, sanitary napkins were provided to the school to promote menstrual hygiene and awareness among female students.
Students of the school presented impressive speeches and presentations on themes such as ‘Women Empowerment’ and ‘The Importance of the Girl Child.’
The event successfully disseminated the message of gender equality, education, and empowerment at the grassroots level.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of Mission Shakti reiterated the commitment of the Department of Social Welfare, Ganderbal, to continue such outreach initiatives aimed at empowering women and ensuring holistic development of girls through education, health, and skill-based awareness.
