Session celebrates women achievers, emphasizes empowerment, leadership, inclusivity
Srinagar | : The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Friday hosted a special Women’s Session as part of its Global Alumni Meet, SANGAM 2025, celebrating the achievements of its distinguished women alumni.
Themed “Women in Power: Beyond Balance: Towards Brilliance,” the session featured accomplished alumnae and professionals sharing their experiences and insights. Director Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia expressed pride in the institute’s women achievers, highlighting their role as role models and catalysts for social transformation. He emphasized that true empowerment stems from education, confidence, and opportunity. Prof. Roohie Naaz, I/C Director and Dean Research & Consultancy, noted the session’s commitment to gender inclusivity and leadership development, stating that it inspires dialogue and mentorship while recognizing women’s contributions to society. Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Iffat Hassan Shah delivered a keynote address on the importance of mentorship and collaboration in empowering women professionals. She underscored that breaking the glass ceiling involves creating opportunities for others. Other speakers, including Er. Aaquib Sultana Deva and Er. Anbreena Anjum, shared their journeys, emphasizing perseverance, integrity, and the transformative power of mentorship. The event included discussions on leadership, equity, and representation, moderated by Dr. Iqra Altaf Gillani and Dr. Yusra Banday. Prof. M.A. Shah, Dean Alumni Affairs, described the session as an inspiring start to the Global Alumni Meet, aimed at strengthening the alumni network and celebrating women’s success. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, allowing students to engage on topics such as career growth and work-life balance, fostering intergenerational learning and collaboration.
