Srinagar | : The AISHE Cell of the Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA) at the University of Kashmir, in collaboration with the AISHE Unit of the Government of J&K, conducted a one-day training workshop aimed at enhancing institutional data management practices for nodal officers involved in the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE).
The workshop focused on familiarizing participants from affiliated colleges and satellite campuses with the Data Capture Format (DCF) on the AISHE portal, featuring technical sessions, interactive discussions, and hands-on training to promote accurate and consistent data submission. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan emphasized the critical role of precise data in informing policy and academic planning, asserting that AISHE serves as a vital evidence base for higher education reforms. Registrar Prof. Naseer Iqbal underscored the necessity of institutional coordination in data management, noting that regular capacity-building workshops are essential for enhancing quality assurance mechanisms within the university system. Sourabh Kant from the Ministry of Education provided insights into the significance of AISHE in developing comprehensive national databases for higher education planning, while Dr. Asif Iqbal discussed the operational aspects of data verification and validation. The event also saw the release of the Statistical Digest 2023–24, compiled by DIQA. Training sessions included guidance on filling the online DCF and addressing the challenges faced by nodal officers, led by representatives from the Ministry of Education.
