Ganderbal | : The Department of Management Studies (DMS) at the Central University of Kashmir on Friday organized an extension lecture and interactive session on entrepreneurship, titled “How to Start Your Enterprise,” through its BizTalk Club Tabsur.
The event was attended by BBA (Hons) and MBA students and featured Sheikh Yameen, the founder of Curve Electric, a public e-bike sharing company focused on sustainable urban mobility in India. During the session, Yameen shared insights from his entrepreneurial journey, emphasizing that starting a business is not overly complex. He highlighted the environmental impact of his startup, which has saved over 200 metric tons of carbon emissions in just three years. Yameen also announced that his company recently secured its first pre-seed funding at a valuation of USD 1 million. He stressed that while every venture begins with an idea, successful execution is crucial for entrepreneurial success. To foster practical experience among students, he proposed the establishment of a Student Consulting Firm within the department. Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Head of the Department of Management Studies, underscored the significance of experiential learning and real-world exposure in developing future entrepreneurs. He commended Yameen’s journey as an inspiring example of innovation and commitment to sustainability. Dr. Mir Insha Farooq, the Academic Coordinator, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurial education and the role of Tabsur in enhancing students’ business skills.
